So, today wasn't starting off so well. After several crummy nights of sleep, I am what one might call a basket case and I really don't know how I'm going to make it through the day. But after lying awake for an hour and feeling miserable, Sam made me breakfast in bed complete with tea. Then Lucy woke up and gave me extra snuggles and I love yous, and made me a second breakfast (out of playdough, but still). Today I have my 36-week midwife appointment. (Can you believe it? This baby is going to come before Easter. Well, I suppose technically he/she could come as late as the Tuesday following Easter, but I'm saying Easter.) Yesterday Lucy had her follow-up appointment with the pediatric opthamologist and she's definitely in the clear as far as eye surgery goes, and that's awesome news. Her superfab pink glasses have done the work of correcting her crossed eyes (while she wears them - she can't help being lazy when she doesn't have them on), so we're just going to keep an eye (hahaha) on her farsightedness and astigmatism as she grows. Last week we got replacements for her "dress" glasses - the ones she broke twice before we got the bendy pink ones - because they were still on warranty but discontinued. Those are the ones she was wearing in Monday's post. But the bendy pink ones are definitely still for everyday use because they're just SO GREAT for little people. In case anyone needs or wants to know, they're called MiraFlex and they come small enough for infants, in tons of colours. We got them at Whitworth Opticians here in the city and although I was a skeptic when Sam picked them out, they are just so great.
I'm going to do my best to make today a good day instead of a crummy one. I can do it, right?
